Employability Skills

Building confident, capable individuals for the future of work.

In today’s dynamic job market, it’s no longer enough to focus solely on technical knowledge or qualifications. Success in employment also depends on a core set of employability skills—skills that help individuals communicate effectively, solve problems, manage their time, adapt to change, and work well with others.

At CAQA LLND, we embed employability skills across all of our programs to ensure learners are not only job-ready but also prepared to thrive, contribute, and progress in their careers.

What Are Employability Skills?

Employability skills are the essential capabilities that enable individuals to gain employment, perform well in a workplace, and progress in their careers. These include:

Communication and teamwork

Problem-solving and initiative

Planning and organising

Learning and self-management

Working with technology

Interpersonal and cultural awareness

These are not tied to any one industry, but are critical across all jobs—from hospitality and retail to healthcare, construction, and administration.

These skills are not "soft" — they are power skills. They are what employers look for when hiring, promoting, and building effective teams.

Our Alignment with the Core Skills for Work Developmental Framework (CSfW)

At CAQA LLND, our approach to employability is guided by the CSfW, a nationally recognised framework that defines and describes these non-technical skills in the context of learning and work.

The CSfW outlines three core skill clusters:

Navigate the World of Work

Understand work roles, rights, and responsibilities

Work within organisational culture and expectations

Demonstrate personal identity and ethics in the workplace

Interact with Others

Communicate for work purposes

Work in teams and manage relationships

Understand diversity and inclusivity

Get the Work Done

Plan and organise work tasks

Make decisions and solve problems

Use digital technology effectively

Reflect, learn, and improve

Our training and assessments are mapped to these clusters, ensuring learners develop the full range of capabilities expected by Australian employers.

How We Embed Employability Skills

Employability is not taught in isolation—it is integrated into every part of the learner experience at CAQA LLND. Here's how:

In Our Courses

Each LLND course is designed with explicit employability outcomes, meaning learners don’t just develop foundational skills—they learn how to apply them in real-world workplace settings.

Course Integration Examples:
